Ayesha and Jackie Shroff have made films like Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehtaa Hai
(directed by Mahesh Manjrekar) and Grahan (directed by Shashilal Nayar).
While the former was a light musical love and family drama, the latter was a
psycho-thriller. Both the film, unfortunately, bombed at the Box-Office
leaving Jackie with dilemma whether he should continue to produce films or
not.
But now, after a considerable gap, he is all set to bounce back with films
like Sandhya and Boom. Sandhya is again a thriller film but according to
sources, this is one of the really different movies Bollywood has made in
years. Interestingly, Sandhya is written by late Amjad Khan's actor-turned
writer son Shadab Khan.
Sandhya is the story of a doctor Singhania (Ashutosh Rana). He is a renowned
doctor who owns an institution. Things were moving fine until one day when
his entire family is brutally murdered by an unknown killer. Shaken
Singhania becomes a psychic case due to this incident and admitted in his
own institution for treatment.
Slowly, he recovers from the trauma and becomes normal to an extent. But the
grief and painful memories of losing his all loved ones is still alive in
his heart. He decides to convert his house into a nursing home and names it
Sandhya. While he carries on his routine as best as possible, the nearing
death anniversary of his family members starts upsetting him once again.
When the pain reaches its peak and Singhania feels he cannot live with it,
he decides to do something which is too difficult to accept. He decides to
get himself killed on the death anniversary of his wife and to execute this
job, he employs one Jaggu (Jackie Shroff). Jaggu is a man who could do this
work quite easily. But this easy job turns out to be a shocking episode very
soon as unexpected incidences start taking place. And what follows is truly
a gripping and attention-grabbing story.
Sandhya is directed by Sangeeth Sivan who has made name for himself with
some good movies in South India. The music is composed by Anand Raj Anand..
Sandhya is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year and one can
wish that it works at the Box-Office. As such, thriller films have ruled the
Box-Office and who knows Sandhya can repeat the same success story once
again.
